Kapil's Residence

Location - Bangalore | Area - 1,800 sqft | Year - 2023

For this project, we drew inspiration from our Indian Heritage and adorned it with tasteful infusion of textiles, patterns and art. Each piece was carefully chosen to add depth and cultural charm.

Our focus was to make it a fusion between sophistication and warmth while utilizing a rich colour palette of deep browns, dark greens, greys, off-whites, terracotta, and hints of yellow. We chose wooden flooring for the bedrooms, greyish Kota stone with vibrant yellow Jaisalmer marble accents, to create an inviting atmosphere.

We wanted to make sure each piece resonated with each other – from the plush sofa adorned with earth-toned cushions, brass accents, and strategically placed light fixtures, to the captivating paintings and green foliage, reflecting the essence of the colour palette. The cabinets and shelving units is a mixture of materials and colours, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

As you journey through the main living area, a fusion of polished and unpolished Kota stone in assorted sizes along with Jaisalmer marble creates an intricately detailed flooring pattern. Within the living space is a teak veneer wall with elegant brass accents that serves as a centrepiece with a drop light made up of banana leaf fibre along with a hand knotted rug blending into the Kota stone floor.

Tucked away in a corner is a functional yet aesthetically pleasing bar made with teak wood, and ribbed tile as accents. The master bedroom carries the same language, the teak wood herringbone flooring brings in the warmth along with other wooden accents along with a green textured paint. The bed celebrates craftsmanship through its weaved rattan headboard.

The final result is a blend of our adorned Indian heritage with a touch of elegant luxury.
